With a population of around 27.7 million, Malaysia is one of the most developed nations in Southeast Asia. Its economy has a firm foundation that includes strong manufacturing, service and agricultural sectors. Food and Hotel Malaysia is the official food and hotel show in Malaysia. The show is held every two years and it is open to trade visitors only. In 2009, there were 800 exhibitors from 40 countries and 18,100 visitors from 52 countries. Propak 2011 and Culinaire Malaysia 2011, the regions largest culinary competition, will take place at the same time.
