Before you start interacting with others on Twitter, you'll want to think a little about the personality you're

going to project. Think to yourself before you start, what do I want other people to perceive about me? What character do I wish to be, what is my online personality? This is a great chance to use your imagination. There are a lot of people looking for attention on sites like Twitter, so you'll need to really project your personality in order to stand out. By being bold and having strong opinions, you'll be noticed. Twitter is a great place to say the things that are on your mind, but don't have a chance to say throughout the day. It's a chance to show sides of your personality that you tend to downplay in day to day life. Twitter is a great place to get things "off your chest." I suggest that you use a pen name. It makes it easier to get "Outside yourself" and really let your personality come through. Maiden names, middle names, or just names you've always liked make great pen name choices. Of course, you can use your own name too. (NOTE: If you already have a personal Twitter account, you should create a brand new one just for this program.) In addition to being bold and confident. You should always try to be both friendly and knowledgable. These are traits that make people want to follow you. Before you even create a Twitter account, take a minute and answer the questions below. Email the answers to me at OTTSocial@gmail.com so I can give you feedback.

Twitter Online Personality Worksheet

1. What is your marketing name going to be? Note: You may have to change it slightly if your first choice is taken! 2. What are you knowledgeable about? (This does not have to relate to marketing in any way) 3. What are you passionate about? 4. In one or two sentences, describe your marketing personality

You need to decide what you want your pen name to be. Authors use pen names all the time to maintain their privacy and you can too. When people reply to you on twitter and have conversations with you, they will be using this format @yourusername. Your user name defines you on twitter -- it is what everyone sees and knows you as online. It must be less than 15 characters long. Your twitter name can be your real name but it does not have to be. It can be a pseudo name or marketing personality you create. You want something easy to remember as well as easy to spell. For Instance, if you are passionate about dogs and your name is Bonnie, you could be @DogLoverBonnie

Writing your bio: Your Byline: Whenever your page on Twitter is viewed, your Byline is displayed. It's your chance to sell yourself to any new potential followers. Keep it short and sweet, you're limited to 160 characters. Remember to get right to the issue.

For example, instead of writing "My name is Andrew, I live in New York and like to Travel." I could write, "Travel with me!"

Choosing a picture: You should choose a picture that you plan to keep permanently to represent you and your brand on twitter. You can choose the logo that you plan to use for your business, you can choose a picture of yourself (head shots are best), you can even choose something that expresses your personality if you wish. Remember, be bold and be eye catching as well as memorable - Those are your rules when choosing an image. When you are looking for a picture, you can use Google.com and then narrow your search down to "images" and find some great stuff to use. For Example, I like dogs, so I typed "Funny Dog Picture" in google search, then I clicked "images" to find my picture.

Once I found just the picture I was looking for, I right clicked on it and saved it to my computer.
