ICCF 2nd JUNIOR WORLD CUP Sponsored by ChessBase

ICCF announces the 2nd World Junior Cup intended to promote correspondence chess for young players. It will be played on the ICCF webserver in two stages: Preliminary and Final. All players winning preliminary sections and the Final winner will receive ChessBase prizes. Who is eligible to play? Anyone who was born after 1st February 1992 can enter regardless of ICCF membership status. How to register and when? Players may register immediately via their National Federation or by using the online Direct Entry method. See; http://www.iccf-webchess.com/EventsAnnouncements.aspx Registration closes at midnight GMT on 14th January 2012. What are the tournament conditions? The tournament will be played on the ICCF Webserver with the time control of 10/30 (30 days of reflection time for every 10 moves). All games will be ICCF rated and a provisional rating will be given to any new player. Winners of each preliminary group will qualify for the final. Some runners up may also qualify depending on the number of entries. What are the prizes? 25 ChessBase voucher for each preliminary section winner. The winner of the final will receive a 50 ChessBase voucher. Who is the tournament organizer? Markus Hmske (FRA) is the Tournament Organiser. When does the tournament start? The Preliminary stage will start on 1st February 2012. The final will start immediately after all qualifiers are known. What are the entry fees? This varies depending on the method used to register. National Federations will determine their own fees. National Federation entries should be sent to Markus by email at; ausone2910@yahoo.fr and include the name of the player, date of birth and any existing ICCF number and rating. The online Direct Entry fee is presented during the registration process and will also require the date of birth.
