frstborn, no man shall dedicate; whether it is an ox or sheep,
it is the LORDs.

And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according
to your valuation, and shall add one-ffth to it; or if it is not redeemed,
then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

Nevertheless no devoted offering that a man may devote to the
LORD of all that he has, both man and beast, or the feld of his
possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is
most holy to the LORD.
"Devoted" is the root word of "devotion" or "devout."

Consecrate to Me all the frstborn, whatever opens the womb
among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine.

"And it shall be, when the LORD brings you into the land of
the Canaanites, as He swore to you and your fathers, and gives
it to you,

that you shall set apart to the LORD all that open the womb,
that is, every frstborn that comes from an animal which you have;
the males shall be the LORDs.

But every frstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb;
and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And all
the frstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem."
1. Every frstborn belongs to God.
2. It must be sacrifced to the Lord by holy fre.
3. If it is unclean, you can redeem it with a lamb.
4. Otherwise, its neck is broken.
5. If you use it (when unredeemed), it will become an accursed thing to you.
6. By giving the frstborn to God, youre loving and honoring Him.
7. Because the frst is representative of the rest, God will redeem,
protect and prosper what follows.
