LDR (Light Dependent Resistor)

An LDR (Light dependent resistor) is a sensor that decreases its electrical resistance when exposed to light, allowing it to act as a light-sensitive device. It is made of cadmium sulfide and its resistance ranges from mega-ohms in the dark to a few hundred ohms when exposed to light, enabling it to vary voltage based on light intensity. Common applications of LDRs include auto camera flashes, industrial controls, room light controls, and electronic toys.

LDR(light dependent resistor)

LDR An LDR (Light dependent resistor), as its name suggests, offers resistance in response to the ambient light. The resistance decreases as the intensity of incident light increases, and vice versa. In the absence of light, LDR exhibits a resistance of the order of mega-ohms which decreases to few hundred ohms in the presence of light. It can act as a sensor, since a varying voltage drop can be obtained in accordance with the varying light. It is made up of cadmium sulphide (CdS). An LDR has a zigzag cadmium sulphide track. It is a bilateral device, i.e., conducts in both directions in same fashion. LDR Features: Small Size Reliable Performance Quick Response High Sensitivity Good Characteristic of Spectrum

LDR diameter available 4mm, 5mm,7 mm, 12mm & 20mm.

LDR Applications: Auto flash for cameras, Industrial Control, Room light control & Photomusical I.C. Photoelectric Control, Photo switch & Electronic toys.
