LDR DESCRIPTION :

Light Dependent
Resistor or abbreviated as
LDR is a type of resistor
whose resistance value or
resistance value depends
on the intensity of the light
it receives. LDR Resistance
Value will decrease when
bright light and the
Resistance value will be
high if in dark conditions. In
other words, the function of
the LDR (Light Dependent
Resistor) is to conduct an
electric current if it
receives a certain amount
LIGHT DEPENDENT
of light intensity (Light
RESISTOR Conditions) and inhibits an
electric current in dark

HOW TO MEASURE LDR 1. B R I G H T
CONDITION:

1) Set the Multimeter

selector switch into Ohm
position.

2) Connect the red and

black Multimeter probe
on both LDR probe
(ignore polarity).

3) Give the bright light on

the LDR.

4) Read the resistance

value on the Multimeter
display.
HOW TO MEASURE 2. D A R K
LDR CONDITION:

1) Set the Multimeter

selector switch into Ohm
position.

2) Connect the red and

black multimeter probe
on both LDR probe
(ignore polarity).

3) Cover the surface of the

LDR or make sure the
LDR doesn’t get light.

4) Read the resistance

value on the Multimeter
display.
