Topic for discussion: 1. Remberance Day

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the country stops to pay tribute to those who perished at war. Poppies are worn as a mark of respect. This stems from WW1 where poppies arose from the ground where some of the worst battles commenced. Poppies are sold by the Royal British Legion. Other charities do raise money for Armed Forces personnel such as Help for Heroes who provide much needed help to injured soldiers. How did you feel in assembly? Is there enough help for our soldiers? Should we be so reliant on organisations such as the Royal British Legion to help our soldiers? Do the government do enough? Is one day enough to respect all the dead who have fought to earn the freedom people take for granted each day? What do the British Legion do? Do you know any other organisations that help soldiers and their families?
