The Loden Foundation`s OIIicial Newsletter: Outline,



The Loden Foundation Director Ashe Kunzang Choden, with a main objective and subjective to
dedicated in promoting education and learning in Bhutan and to rising awareness oI Bhutan`s
culture, religion and environment.
Where in the year 2010, has seen a signiIicance milestone in Loden`s journey towards its
establishment as a legal entity in Bhutan. Loden was Iinally awarded the certiIicate oI
registration as a legal entity in Bhutan. And thereIore, Loden was awarded the certiIicate oI
registration as a local public beneIits organization towards the end oI the year, although Loden
was among the Iirst civil society organization to be registered it took some time to get the
certiIicate because oI bureaucratic obstacles. The Loden Knowledge Base is now open with a
wide range oI quality books and electronic resources on entrepreneurship, early learning, higher
education, intellectual development, etc.
Established as a part oI our education programmes to promote and encourage learning,
entrepreneurship and an innovative thinking` culture, the Loden knowledge Base is located in
their oIIice and open during regular oIIice hours Ior visitors to use. Where it consists oI a small
library oI books, CDs and online resources Ior the interested learners to directly access
knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.
The books on entrepreneurship includes; useIul topics such as marketing, Iinances, how to start
businesses, operations and business management, human resources, inIormation and technology
and mentoring. Any assistance and support in the Iorm oI donation oI books, CDs and Iunds and
voluntary work in order to increase the Iree resources is highly welcome in their NGOs.
Loden has successIully conducted its third annual educational Loden Entrepreneurship Training
Programme in April; 2010which was attended by 45 potential entrepreneurs Irom diIIerent parts
oI the country. Based on its success, Loden also conducted the training programme again in
Mongar in November, making the training programme biannual Irom the year; Loden also
provides mentoring, monitoring and support services to these projects.
