Dear Classmate,

This is a two part letter. PART ONE (Explanation of Reunion Expenses):

We need your HELP! We are asking that you register now for the reunion or as early as
possible instead of waiting. For those of you who have never organized a large event you may
ask why does a reunion cost so much? There are numerous expenses which include things like
postage for first class mailings, paper, envelopes, labels, copying costs, name tags and holders,
decorations, bank expenses, clean up costs and deposits on the caterer, facility and D.J. Up
until now, the committee has been paying for various expenses out of their own pockets. Now
we need your help. By registering early, you will be helping to offset these expenses and the
weight of financing the reunion will be spread among the alumni attending the reunion. What
you do not pay for is the hundreds of hours that your reunion committee puts into the planning
and organizing your reunion.

Please help support the planning of our reunion by mailing in your check today for $68.00 per
person so that our plans can continue.

PART TWO (Silent Auction):

We are all looking forward to our 40th class reunion and very excited to see many of our alumni
again. The response of classmates has been wonderful and we are looking forward to this
being the best reunion yet.

During the search for lost classmates, we have found that there are many classmates that have
been less fortunate than others. Some have had deaths of a loved one (such as sons, daughters,
grandchildren, sisters, brothers, spouses etc.) and some have had illnesses which has changed
their lives forever. For one reason or another some have had extreme financial difficulties.
Through all of the sad stories we have heard, we have decided to have a ‘SILENT AUCTION’
at the reunion to help one, two or three of the less fortunate classmates.

We are currently asking for donations from classmates, business owners, or any extended
network that any of you may have for this auction. Craft items, gifts, gift certificates from
restaurants or stores, anything you might think would be a great item to auction off.
Remember, this will be a silent auction, so the amounts of the gift certificates will be sealed and
go to the highest bidder who has silently made an offer.

If you are able to donate or can help us obtain items for this auction, please contact Loretta
(Maggio) Wallace at valentinegir1950@yahoo.com or Debra (Schlieter) Moses at
debrajaynemoses@gmail.com. You can also contact Loretta through email at classmates.com
or by phone at 503-588-0488.

Should you know of anyone from our class that could benefit from the proceeds of this auction,
PLEASE call or email Loretta and she will make sure your story gets to the Reunion
committee. The recipients will be determined at a later date. Again, we want this reunion to
be a very “special” one, and a reunion an unfortunate classmate or classmates will never
forget.

Sincerely,

The Reunion Committee
