    Stage 1: Specification

    A. Purpose of Test The purpose of this test in the course English Plus is to measure the students knowledge and comprehension of the specific uses of the tenses of the verb: present; past and future tenses. Under these topics are the forms of the verbs which include the following: simple, progressive and emphatic forms of the verb. The tasks presented are comparatively low-stakes tests and are usually done inside the classroom. In here, the results for each task will be part of the teachers decision on the students final grade in the said course. It will also help the teachers to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the students as to what skill they excel or fail and the alternatives to be used to help them improve their performance.
