Verification of Health Personnel Trainings [5-9 September 2011 and 9-15 October 2011] 1.

The objective of the mission was to;

a) Verify Quarter 6 training reports by Ministry of Health and Child Welfare (MoHCW).

The trainings verification exercise was guided by the field visit checklist. Selection of sites was randomly done basing on training reports submitted by districts. Desk review was done by checking the training reports and the participants list. Interviews were done with the District Nursing Officers (DNOs) and the trained health personnel.

Summary of mission findings The table below highlights the mission findings; No. Challenges/Issues Training of administration staff (Switchboard Operator, Health Services Administrator, Human Resources Assistant and the Typist who are not directly involved in infant and young child feeding counselling. Trained health personnel not entered in DNOs Training Record Book. Two participants-Joseph Munasi and Denboy Muswera had their names not entered in DNOs Training Record Book. Trained Primary Care Counsellor (PCC) not recorded in DNOs Training Record Book Implementing Partner Action to be taken There is need for efficient utilisation of financial resources for programmes by training health staff who directly work with clients/patients instead of including support staff who work in administration.
