Love Doth Declare War

Love; from whence cometh thy power? Before you men weep, Before you men cower; You bring dreams in waking, dread in sleep. Begone! Begone! Relentless obsession! Cry the rejected and down-trod. They claim love turned them aside When their courage was not enough. Who would prevent love? Why would they do so? Upon whose authority Would they send love to its death throes? Who douses heart-fire? Claims it be of Hell? Feeble devotion, ridiculous emotion? They've all fallen for the siren's spell! Whom bellows: Lust! At resilient lovers? Whom calls their passion, 'death'? Such cynics shall have 'HATE' Written upon their lips Until their dying breath. Love be not shy With your affectionate claws, For the Heart beats Louder Than the Drums of war.
