The scope of research is actually what you are doing.

In this part of the research paper you will tell exactly what you did and where you got the information that you used. The limitations, also known as the bounds, are the part that explains where you drew the line on doing any further research. For example, the scope would be something like: We compiled information from children within the ages for pre-school through the high-school. Where the limitations would be something like: However, we decided not to gather information from students in college and beyond.
