ERP Communication #4

CUNYs ERP project has been named FIRST (Fully Integrated Resources & Service Tool). This name was selected from among the many submissions from the recent University-wide competition. The selected name was submitted by Asst. Professor Caitlin Borgmann from the CUNY Law. The development of the FIRST continues apace. The most advanced areas are the Human Resources and Payroll modules which are in the fit gap stage. That is, the FIRST design applications for those areas are being carefully examined for consistency and conformity to CUNY and College business practices. Where gaps are discovered, they are addressed in discussion with campus personnel. Representing the College of Staten Island in these discussions are Marie Anderson, Patrice Barnett, and Gloria Cortopassi. In July, the areas of Admissions, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Student Financials will continue in discussions on the FIRST prototype. At this stage, University business models and best practices as well as College business rules are reviewed for consistency with the product at a significant level of detail. Contributing participants from CSI in these ongoing discussions are Annamarie Bianco, Mary Beth Reilly, Michael Baybusky, Nancy Casey, Sherry Heller, and Philippe Marius. A University survey was conducted with selected participants at each campus to gather feedback and insights regarding the ERP/FIRST at this stage of development. Appreciation is extended to all those who took the time to participate in the survey. In addition, focus groups were convened at the Central Office to gain additional opinions and perspectives from campus personnel. Representing CSI were Marianne Carlin and Nicholas Saccone. We encourage all members of the CSI community to visit http://erp.cuny.edu for timely updates on the FIRST project.
