To whom it may concern,

Last year, at a meeting hosted by Americans for Prosperity, in Atlanta, I met with former Ga. Central District U.S. Atty. Max Woods and asked him a direct question about Presidential eligibility as per the Article II Section I Clause V requirement that he/she be "Natural Born". The question was this; is the child of two illegal aliens, who was born on American soil, eligible to be President of the United States? Hi un-hesitant answer was simply, yes. In or around Aug. of this year I received a call from Sen. Saxby Chambliss concerning correspondence I've had with him, also concerning eligibility requirements to be POTUS and asked him a different but similar question; If Osama Bin Laden had impregnated a Pakistani woman and then had her smuggled across our southern border for the purpose of having the baby on American soil, would that child be eligible to be POTUS? His un-hesitant answer was simply, yes.

You see, there's a troubling trend of ignorance on the part of elected officials in regards to the Constitutional requirement for the highest office in the land. This trend is and has been aided by both our schools and the major Media for purposes that completely escape me. The Supreme Court has given us the correct definition in the ruling of Minor V Happersett (1876) which is this; "The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their [P168] parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts." This ignorance to Constitutional law has put this Nation in the now ongoing Constitutional Crisis and can only be rectified at the State level since there is no convening authority in Washington D.C. who can vet our Presidential candidates.
