CELL CYCLE CONTROL 1.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae + metazoan Organizing the rapid segregation of events that occur during mitosis: 1. Interact with the only microtubule organizing center found in S. Cerevisiae (Spindle Pole Body/SPB). 2. Place of attachment for the proteins that monitor the correct attachment of kinetochores to spindle the microtubules before anaphase.

2. Humans If TPR was deleted it would provoke an IMPAIRED ANAPHASE. TPR takes care of: 1. Is the place of attachment for the proteins that monitor the correct attachment of kinetochores to spindle the microtubules before anaphase 2. Chromosome movement in anaphase and progression of mitosis.

3. Conclussions Theres a clear connection between S. Cerevisiae and humans in the function of the attachement of the microtubules. TPR domain is in charge of the NPC, and also the spatial and temporal regulation of the common function between humans and S. Cerevisiae (SAC happens in other species).
