Antiplatelet

Treatment for patients at risk for ischemic eventsrecent MI, recent ischemic CVA, peripheral artery disease.

Contraindicated with allergy to Clopidogrel, active pathological bleeding such as peptic ulcer or intracranial hemorrhage, lactation. Use cautiously with bleeding disorders, recent surgery, hepatic impairment and pregnancy.

CNS: Headache, dizziness, weakness, syncope, flushing. CV: Hypertension, edema Dermatologic: Rash, pruritus GI: Nausea, GI distress, constipation, diarrhea, GI bleed. Other: Increase bleeding risk

Provide frequent small meals if GI upset occurs (Not as common with aspirin) Provide comfort measures and arrange for analgesics if headache occurs. Take daily as prescribed. May be taken with meals. You may experience these side effects: Dizziness, lightheadedness (this may pass as you adjust to drug); headache (lie down in a cool environment and rest); nausea, gastric distress (eat frequent small meals) Report skin rash, chest pain, fainting, severe headache, abnormal bleeding. 50-100mg PO every 4-6 hours; do not exceed 400mg per day

Analgesic Opioid Analgesics

Relief of moderate to moderately severe pain. Relief of moderate to moderately severe chronic pain in adults who need around the clock treatment for extended periods.

Contraindicated with allergy to Tramadol or opioids or acute intoxication with alcohol, opioids, or psychoactive drugs. Use cautiously with pregnancy, lactation; seizure, concomitant use of CNS depressant, MAOIs, SSRIs, TCAs. Renal Impairment.

CNS: Sedation, dizziness or vertigo, headache, confusion, dreaming, sweating, anxiety, seizures CV: Hypotension, tachycardia, bradycardia Dermatologic: Sweating, pruritus, rash, pallor, urticaria GI: Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, flatulence Other: potential for abuse, anaphylactoid reactions.

Control environment (temperature, lighting) if sweating or CNS effects occurs. Limit use with patients with past or present history of addiction to or dependence on opioids. You may experience these side effects: Dizziness, sedation, drowsiness, impaired visual acuity (avoid driving or performing tasks that require alertness); nausea, loss of appetite, lie quietly, eat frequent small meals) Report severe nausea, dizziness, sever constipation.

CVA reduction: 50mg/day PO with 12.5mg/da y hydrochlor othiazide. May be increased to 100mg/da y PO with 25mg per day hydrochlor othiazide as needed.

Antihypertens ive

Reduction of the risk for CVA in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.

Contraindicated with hypersensitivity to losartan, pregnancy (use during 2nd or 3rd trimester can cause injury or even death to the fetus) Use cautiously with hepatic or renal impairment, hypovolemia.

CNS: Headache, dizziness, syncope, insomnia Dermatologic: Rash, urticaria, pruritus, alopecia, dry skin GI: Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, dry mouth Respiratory: URI symptoms, cough, sinus disorders. Other: Back pain, fever, gout, muscle weakness

Administer without regard to meals. Do not stop taking this drug without consulting your health care provider. Monitor patient closely in any situation that may lead to a decrease in BP secondary in reduction to fluid volume- excessive perspiration, dehydration, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive hypotension can occur.
