Top Oil Temperature Probe

Top Oil Temperature Probe provides the means of measuring transformer top oil temperature and providing the data to the DRMCC System for control, monitoring, and predictive purposes.

FEATURES
Standard 3-wire RTD Assembly Adjustable cut-to-length sensor will accommodate any thermal well up to 15.75 deep. Spring-loaded design provides good physical contact to the bottom of the thermal well for maximum thermal response.

Probe cutting instructions:

Remove the fitting from the electrical box. Screw the NPT fitting in the thermal well on the transformer. Loosen the nut on the spring loaded holder. Force the RTD into the well until it bottoms out. Remove the fitting and pull the RTD, increasing the penetration depth another . Mark the RTD to be cut approximately beyond the nut on the fitting. Remove the Teflon ferule from the leads end of the probe. Cut the RTD, going slowly to avoid crimping the case or damaging the leads. Use a good quality tubing cutter intended to cut stainless steel. Discard the hollow tube section and reinstall the plastic ferule. Tighten the nut on the back of the fitting. Reinstall the electrical box and terminate the wires onto the terminal strip provided.
