[FADE OUT HOME MOVIE FOOTAGE/ OLD PICTURES] SCENE 1.2 [EXT. SCHOOL, DAYTIME] (Some Vox Pop with assorted classmates; responding to the same question What did you like most about Ben?) IMPROVISATION SCENE 2 - [INT. CLASSROOM, DAYTIME CHARLOTTE, BENS GIRLFRIEND] CHARLOTTE: INTERVIEWER: CHARLOTTE: I loved him so much, he was such a great boyfriend, Nothing will ever be same now that hes gone. What are your most precious memories of Ben? I have so many. He was such a great guy and everyone loved him. We went on holiday last summer to Portugal, he paid for everything and worked so much before we went just so he could make it perfect for me. I never had so much fun. I really thought we would be together forever. What will you miss about him the most? Humour. Intellect. Good.... [RECEIVES TEXT MESSAGE] (break)[angrily] You know what, I only went out with him to get back at Lucy. She liked him and I knew I could get him. He had the best body on the football team and I was the hottest girl. Everyone was jealous of us and of course we worked well together

INTERVIEWER: CHARLOTTE:

as a couple, we fed each others popularity. [storms out] INTERVIEWERS LOOK AT EACH OTHER CONFUSED fade out

[TITLECARD: BRIEFLY AFTER BENS DEATH, IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE YOUNG MAN USED ADHD MEDICATION ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE TEXT MESSAGE CHARLOTTE RECEIVED WHILE TALKING TO US, WAS THE MESSAGE THAT SPREAD THE NEWS AROUND THE ENTIRE SCHOOL.] SCENE 2.1 - [INT. SCHOOL, DAYTIME; SCENE WITH CHARLOTTE AND TOM, BENS BEST FRIEND QUIETLY DISCUSSING RECENT EVENTS] CHARLOTTE: TOM: CHARLOTTE: You knew? Why did you not tell me, It wasnt in my place to tell you. Besides, dont pretend like you would have cared. Oh come on, we both know the only reason you were following him around all these years is because you wanted to be like him. Sad. (walking away) Im going to be the laughing stock of the school for being with a LIAR. SCENE 3 [INT. CLASSROOM, DAYTIME] INTERVIEWER: Were you surprised finding out about Bens drug problem.

PERSONAL TUTOR: Honestly, I am not surprised things turned out the way they did. The poor boy was under so much pressure to perform as expected. His brother had done so well with his life and his parents wanted him to be the same. Bens real passion was always for sports. He wasnt interested in applying for the Oxbridge programme. He wanted to become a football player. INTERVIEWER: Do you think anything could have prevented this from happening?

PERSONAL TUTOR: Ben was a very proud kid. While it wasnt specifically his choice to apply for Oxbridge or all the other things he was known for around school, he was always very keen and eager to be the best at everything he did really. Ben wouldve never accepted the fact that he needed help because that

seemed to make him look weak. At least thats what I got from my 2 years of being his personal tutor. SCENE 4 [EXT.. PARENTS HOME, DAYTIME] [Interviewers knock on parents door , mother opens briefly but tells them to leave and that they dont want to talk] SCENE 5 [INT. CLASSROOM, DAYTIME TOM, BEST FRIED] INTERVIEWER: TOM: So we take it to, you already knew about Bens abuse of ADHD medication. Why did you not tell anyone? I should have told someone, I know. It was wrong of me and blame myself everyday for what happened. But he asked me not to tell anyone. He kept saying that it would ruin everything he had if I did. He made me promise him. I had to promise, he was my best friend. [break] And what so wrong with it anyway? Everyones taking drugs, at least he was taking it for a legit and good reason.

[Headmaster storms into room, camera goes hand held.] HEADMASTER: I will not have this film going on any longer. You will stop this at once. It is disrespectful and these are all rumors, nothing more.

[TITLECARD EXPLAINING THAT AFTER RECENT EVENTS, THE MOVIE HAS CHANGED ANGLE AND NOW FOCUSES ON THE EFFECTS OF ADHD MEDICATION AND WHAT IT DOES TO PEOPLE]

SCENE 6 [INT. DOCTORS OFFICE, DAYTIME] INTERVIEWER: DR. TRENKILL: Do you think that ADHD medication would have caused Ben to have a car accident? Well yes, common side effects are, feeling restless, sleeping difficulties, loss of appetite, headaches, irritability, mood swings, dizziness and racing heart beat. All of these could have caused Ben to struggle with everyday activities. Is ADHD abuse common in teenagers? Stimulant abuse is a growing problem, particularly among teens and young adults. College students take

INTERVIEWER: DR. TRENKILL:

them for a boost when cramming for exams or pulling all-nighters.

[TITLECARD: SEVERAL MONTHS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE INFORMATION ABOUT BENS DRUG PROBLEM HAVE LEAKED. WE HAVE SINCE CONTACTED BENS OLDER BROTHER AND CONVINCED HIM TO REASON WITH HIS PARENTS ABOUT GIVING A STATEMENT AND ACCEPTING THE CONDITIONS OF BENS DEATH.]

MOTHER:

When we were told about Bens drug problem. I mea n My husband and I, the whole family, we were devastated as it was but to think that Ben, that my son (tiny break) died, trying to prove something to us and his brother.. even the thought of partly carrying the responsibility of your own childs death. (break) Clearly, I am aware that children take all kinds of medication these days but our Ben was a good son. I could have never imagined on what kind of pressure he was actually under; I was completely oblivious that everything might have been too much for him. We just never asked. He was always doing so great, just like his brother, we didnt stop for a second to think that he may have been unhappy. I wish I had told him that I was proud of him more often. For me, talking in front of the camera today is not about settings things straight with my son, because I neglected my task as a mother and this is my punishment but what is important to me is to raise awareness to other families and avoid another tragedy like this to happening.
