NPA robs soldiers home; injures Ata-Manobo woman in a separate attack Five New Peoples Army disguised in army uniform ransacked a soldiers home at Purok Brilliant Gate, Brgy. Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City on December 13, 6:40 p.m. The NPA committed the robbery while the soldiers family was away. Cpl. Renato Senit of 10thInfantry Division was robbed with an estimated amount of P20, 000 comprising of combat boots, camouflage uniforms, bags, documents, ammunitions, and ammo magazines. The ransacking lasted from 10-20 minutes. Cpl. Senits family attended a bereaved familys commemoration of the 40th day of death of Cpl. Winnie Carampatana who was shot to death in front of his kids and nephew last Nov. 10. The NPA are not only murderers but reduce themselves to robbers. Their extreme paranoia and sheer desperation of shrinking audience whom they can fool force them to unmask the pretension of their so called ideology to what it truly is plain and simple criminality, 10th Infantry Division Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Lyndon V. Paniza said. Simultaneously, a woman was injured on the abdomen when the NPA harassed the Golden Shower detachment in the same barangay. The injured, Estila, a mother of 8, from Ata-Manobo tribe, and wife of CAA Jerry Rasaba, was in their house about 100 meters from the detachment. She was brought to Southern Mindanao Medical Center. We thank the Davao City government for the support on the medical treatment of Estila Rasaba, a member of the Ata-Manobo tribe, he said adding we strongly condemn the utter disregard of human life by the criminal group of NPA operating in Paquibato who spit on what they signed in the Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CAHRIHL). The government troops suffered no casualty. These latest atrocities seem to indicate that either the Communist Party of the Philippines dictate these actions or seems to have no or little control over the actions of the NPA operating in Paquibato. I dare KARAPATAN to prove that the human rights they stand for is not selective by condemning the abhorring acts of NPA and I dare them to investigate and include these violations in their statistics of complaints, the spokesman said. -30-
