IRP and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) made a detailed visit of Industry in Sargodha. We surveyed some issues and found great potential for R&D to develop local technologies. We are very much committed to facilitate process of technology development and commercialization. We are looking for solutions/proposals in this regard. Areas R&D Issues
60-70% demand of Pakistan for Pulses is catered by Pulses processing industry of Sargodha. Industry faces upto 22% losses in processing of pulses. The problems include coloring, sorting, drying and grading. We need local technologies to solve these problems.

Citric
Citric of Sargodha is exportable quality and known in the world market. Wax for citric is imported from Spain and Italy. We need locally developed wax, its scientific protocols and some other technologies to promote citric export in EU countries. Sargodha is 4th largest consumer of wood in Pakistan. Wood used to produce various items needs to be dried. It takes 4-6 months to have dried wood. Wee need technologies to expedite drying process of wood Industry needs more variety of woods and technical trainings Electrical fittings production industry of Sargodha caters 80% needs of Pakistan. They face problems like conventional die making, conventional machine tools, imported powder, and lack of developed standard and testing facility. We need effective management interventions to shift industry to advanced technology and ensure its survival. Other related technologies should also be developed locally. Sargodha is rich in producing state of the art handicrafts with local expertise. These beautiful products are not marketed well in the local and international market. We need marketing R&D to capitalize rich assets of this area.
