IBM Ethernet cleanup steps : Interface need to down and clean : 1) ifconfig -a >> Verify the interfaces 2) ifconfig

<interface name> down 3) ifconfig <interface name> detach

Etherchannel and etherchannel adapter need to be remove : 4) smitty etherchannel > remove etherchannel 5) lsdev -Cc adapter (verify the etherchannel adapters) 6) rmdev -Rdl <etherchannel adapter> Make sure everything got cleaned. If not follow the above steps again.

Identify the etherchannel adapter and intialize it 1) cfgmgr 2) lsdev -Cc adapter 3) smitty etherchannel >> Add main adapter and Backup adapter 4) smitty mktcpip>> Mention the IP and Hostname with correct gateway 5) verify the connectivity 4) reboot and verify
