    They are a happy group, integrated seamlessly with its environment jungle. They are a warlike people, however, prepared to defend themselves. There are several different clans, if any, contact with foreigners. And the clans are perhaps baihuaris contacted one of the best preserved their culture.

    Penti is the leader that defends the interests of the group to the outside world. Kominda is one of the best hunters of monkeys, the main food source of the tribe in the warm months of November and December.

    The Huaorani are one of the people living even in the most traditional throughout the Amazon region. At present, further east, passes to belong to the Yasuni National Park, home to several Huaorani clan, and is one of the parks with more abundant biodiversity in the world.

    Food
    The table is ready in a nanicabo (family house where they live): venison soup with cassava and more fermented chicha. To prepare the "chucula", a drink made from bananas are harvested up to three hectares of ripe banana, mashed and cooked in the pot until the liquid is formed. Another typical food is the Chontaduro wao, which is harvested in February of each year, this is cooked in large pots to make a drink, while serving for the manufacture of spears.

    Crafts and Customs


    The wao use achiote (kaka) and facial and cosmetic dye, in addition to decorating their bodies, also adorn the instruments of hunting spears and blowguns for good hunting.
