    First, a qualitative assessment is performed using the Search & Match function included in the XRD software.

    This tells you what is present in the sample based on comparisons of the results against the ICDD database. The plot on the left is an example of the results However for a quantitative assessment of the calcium silicates, it isnt possible to use the main peaks due to the fact they interfere with each other.
