Dear Parishioners of St.

Patricks Parish, May the celebration of our Saviour Jesus Christ be a source of blessing and graces for you! The light of Christ continues to shine in a world often in darkness. We are that light! My prayer for each and every one of you this Christmas is that this light find a place in your hearts and homes, and that you generously share that light with others. St. Patricks is an exceptional Parish Community, and I wish to thank you for your participation in the life of the Parish in its liturgical celebrations, catechetical instructions, social gatherings, and outreach programs. I commend you on your stewardship of time, talents and treasure in favour of the Parish, the Diocese, and the people of Bermuda. Our international contributions to emergency aid programs are also greatly appreciated. Life in our Diocese continues to be blessed. Our S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis in Parishes and Diocesan groups has provided a rich reflection on the needs of our Diocese. This will take a more solid form in our Diocesan Synod in 2012, which will outline a Pastoral Plan for the future. Developments in Youth Ministry and the Permanent Diaconate Program continue to be a source of hope of the Church in Bermuda. The changes to the words in the Eucharist have been a challenge for all of us, but it is noticeable that each week we become more accustomed to the new Roman Missal. One of the most urgent needs in our Diocese is prayer for vocations to the priesthood, permanent diaconate, and religious life. The reality of maintaining six active Parish Communities with a decreasing number of priests complicates this effort, and calls for sacrifices on the part of all of us. May 2012 be a year of blessing for all of you, and renewed spiritual life in our Parishes and Diocese as we embrace our Diocesan Synod theme Renewed in Christ. Renewed in His Church. God bless you! Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R. Pastor
