    EachoftheproposedprojectsisincludedintheAlternativeModesStudysupportingtheSalem RiverCrossingprojectorintheSalemTransportationSystemPlan. BikeRoutes 1. WinterStreetBicycleBoulevardtoconnectNorthSalem/KeizerneighborhoodswithCapitol MallandDowntownandfurthersouthtotheBushsParkarea.Thenorthernportionofthe routewouldfocusonconstructionofwayfindingsignage.TheportionofWinterStreet southofdowntowntoBushsParkalreadyhasbikelanes.Theemphasisforthisportion wouldbeonsignage.Continuingsouth,theroutewouldbesignedthroughBushsParkand throughtheneighborhoodsouthofBushsParkalongBerryStreetSE,connectingtobike laneson12thand13thStreetsSEviaHoytStreetSE.Anyexistingoldstyle"BikeRoute" signswouldbereplacedwiththenewstandardforbikesigning,includingdestinationsand traveltimes.TheCitycurrentlyownspropertyorrightofwaytosupportdevelopmentof theseroutes. 2. WestSalemBusinessDistrictBicycleRouteWayfinding.Thisprojectwoulddevelop connectionson6thStreetNW,RosemontAvenueNW,EdgewaterStreetNW,andPatterson StreetNW.ThesenewlysignedrouteswouldconnecttheresidentialareatotheWest Salembusinessdistrict,overtheUnionStreetRailroadBridgetodowntown.Thisproject wouldalsoinstallthermoplasticsharrowlanemarkingsonRosemontAvenueNWtodraw attentiontotheneedtosharethetravellaneonthiscollectorstreet.Sharrowlane markingswouldalsobeinstalledalongMusgraveLaneNWandtheWallaceMarinePark roadtoenhancetheconnectionbetweentheexistingEdgewaterTrailandtheUnionStreet RailroadBridge. 3. 12thStreetPromenade.Thispathwayexistsbutitisnotsignedwellforbicyclewayfinding. Theprojectwouldconstructwayfindingsignage. 4. SharrowMarkingsalongChemeketaBicycleBoulevard.Thisprojectwouldinstall [permanent]thermoplasticsharrowmarkingsalongtheexisting(andsigned)bicycle boulevardfromFrontStreetNEto14thStreetNEalongChemeketaStreetNEtoenhance theexistingroute.Twosharrowmarkingsineachdirectiononablockface(fourperblock face)foratotalofnineblocks. 5. CenterStreetBikeSignage.CenterStreetNEisstripedwithbikelanesfrom17thStreetNE toLancasterDriveNEadistanceofalmosttwomiles.Thisprojectwouldinstalldestination wayfindingsignsalongtheroute,includingconnectionstotheChemeketaStreetBicycle Boulevard. Bicycle/TransitIntegration Constructingsixbicyclestoragefacilitiesclusteredintwolocations,tobedeterminedwithinput fromCherriots.
