Exploring our lives

Why are we so afraid of mental illness? What helps us feel safe and secure? In what ways is our environment psychologically toxic? How healthy is it to be well adapted to a sick society?
Who is the group for?
A group for people who are interested in discussing matters relating to society, mental health and life in general. Well use materials including extracts from books, newspapers or documentaries to stimulate ideas and group discussion.

Who can come?


This group is open to everyone and no previous knowledge of mental health or psychology is expected. It is limited to 12 people and priority will be given to those who can attend every session.

Who are we?


The group will be facilitated by Anthony Morgan who is a lecturer in Psychology at Northumbria University as well as working in the mental health field. He will be supported by a local clinical psychologist. Wednesdays, 13 October to 15 December, 11am to 1pm Charles Street Community Centre, Algernon Road, Byker NE6 2UN 10 for ten sessions, 1 per session, free to anyone on benefits (covers basic expenses)
