The Parade It was a nice day I walked along my way From my office to the parade I stopped at a spot in the

shade I was on time; I had it made The traffic had not yet been stopped They said it was at three Such mendacity It was later than that by far I decided to check and see Indeed, the parade was NOT at three Thirty minutes later, it would start Im not one to stand and wait For such activity I hate I decided to look for the parade I knew where it would be I hastened so I could see Finally, the parade began The band marched and played In my spot, I kept the shade Finally, no more wait Twirlers and dancers, young and old Marched along in colors bold Parades are festive and fun Our mascots came by Two live lions I did spy My, how theyve grown Majestic they are The best attraction by far They looked as they went along A series of cars with people did come Many I did not know, not even some Signs they had to tell us who they were

The candy started to fly As some of them waved Hi Watch the kids as they run The floats now did come Some interesting, some dumb Why is it cute to misspell? Some in a car Had music like a bar Not the tone for a parade Ah, the pasted-on smile I saw awhile Among some of the drones that I saw Some smiles are real Fake ones, they should conceal Genuine all the way The parade now is done Mostly, it was fun Now, Ill be On my way Enjoy the rest Of the day By MARIA CAMP Monday, October 17, 2005
