When soil turns acidic and slaked lime or lime stone is added to the soil, neutralization takes place.

When an ant stings on the skin and baking soda is applied on the skin for relief, neutralization takes place. Ant sting is acidic (due to formic acid) and baking soda is basic (due to sodium bicarbonate).

Wasp sting on the other hand is basic and vinegar (contains acetic acid) is used for relief on wasp sting.

When someone suffers from acidity, some antacids are given to eat so that neutralization can take place in the stomach of the patient. Stomach has hydrochloric acid in it whereas a popular antacid is milk of magnesia which contains Mg(OH)2 .

When acidic wastes from factories are disposed off in rivers, they are first treated with bases so as to neutralize the wastes first and prevent the river water from getting acidic.

When you drink orange juice or anything acidic, when you brush your teeth with toothpaste, which contains bases, they are neutralised to protect teeth.
