World War 2 Book The Home Front: Soldiers and Sirens WW2 Discovery Visit Workshop; Use the WW2 Discovery Chest; Use the Butterworth Cartoons pack; Use the WW2 Oral Histories pack and hear one mans real-life experiences of Pendennis in wartime; Visit Half Moon Battery and go into the underground Magazine (with a guide); Visit the Battery Observation Post and reconstructed war shelter; Visit the Discovery Centre. Landscape / maritime themes Walk around Pendennis headland, looking at the ramparts and discussing why the castle was sited there; Visit Crab Quay and discuss why it is the best landing place on the headland; View St Anthony Head Battery on the other side of the Fal estuary and discuss why and how effectively the Fal Estuary was defended.
