Since joining Aljazeera, my belief in the scope and significance of its mission has
increased many times over. I am amazed by your tireless efforts to ensure the
successofourmission.NowthatIhavejoinedyouinthiswork,Ihavelearnedmuch
aboutthestrengthswepossess,whichhaveledtoourglobaldistinction.

To maintain our course and improve it so that we may accomplish even greater
things,Ihavealsoworkedtodiscoverourpointsofweakness,whichmayslowdown
ourabilitytodevelopandreachourfuturegoals.

Within this framework, we have adopted a transformational and operational

excellence project based on best practices and professional opinions from
internationalconsultingfirms.

GOALSOFTHEPROJECT:
1. DefiningtheNetworksvision,strategiesandkeyinitiatives.
2. Achieving efficient editorial and operational integration and collaboration
amongsttheNetworkasawhole.
3. Increasingefficiencyandeffectivenessanddefiningkeyperformanceindicatorsto
transformAljazeeraintoaworldclassorganization.
4. Abolishingbureaucracyandenhancingsynergy.

5. Setting long and shortterm roadmaps in addition to a detailed action plan to

definerolesandobjectives.
6. MaintainingAljazeerasuniqueidentityandprofessionalism.

Three activities Creative, Operations and Project Management are still under
study to identify their best organizational fit at the Networklevel organization
structure.

We are focusing on a number of ongoing initiatives to improve performance, as

follows:

1. Improving and developing the final screen output (visually) on Aljazeera Arabic
andAljazeeraMubasherchannels.
2. Expanding Aljazeera's building and establishing new studios to accommodate
more services in addition to developing the infrastructure at Aljazeera Arabic,
AljazeeraMubasherandAljazeeraEnglishchannels.
3. OverseasOfficesintegrationproject.
4. Forming a joint committee for the production and purchase of television
programsforallnetworkchannels.
5. Developing and implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) at
SupportServicestostreamlineadministrativeworkflow.

Throughthisproject,weseektofurtherimprovetheNetworktocontinueonitspath
ofleadershipandexcellenceandprepareitfortheupcomingchallenges.Youhave
exhibitedgreatteamworkthroughoutAljazeera'sgrowthandthisspirithasbeenat
theheartofournetworksachievementsthusfar.

This enhancement project will be accompanied by many challenges in the
