    Research & Development: Hxy has a collection of around 5000 varieties of germplasm of various crops. This germplasm is evaluated for input traits, performance and for output traits. Core sets of tested germplasm are utilized for multiplication, hybridization & genetic enhancement. Under hybridization, different sets of germplasm are combined to develop a 100% true type basic seed (nucleus seed). This nucleus seed developed is directly used for production of breeder seed. The breeder seed is then planted in controlled environment (R&D farms) for initial and recurring production of foundation seeds.
