SCRIPPS SENIOR SATURDAY

The annual Scripps Senior Saturday will be held from 9:30 a.m. 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, in Scripps Hall. Sponsored by the Scripps Society of Alumni & Friends, this free event is held each year to help prepare graduating journalism students for their job searches. Seniors receive resume critiques and advice on their portfolios, cover letters, job hunting strategies, and more. Date: Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 Time: 9:30 a.m. 4 p.m. Location: Scripps Hall Speakers/Agenda: Ryan Lytle, a 2010 grad who works at US News and World Report, and Meghan Louttit, a 2008 grad now working for the New York Times, will talk about the different ways they have established their careers. In addition, there are professional panels (public relations and advertising, magazine, news writing and editing, and broadcast), for students to connect with professionals and alumni in their fields. A panel of recent grads will share tips for being a valuable and happy first-year employee.

To Register: Students wanting to attend should email Debbie Depeel at depeel@ohio.edu with their name and sequence by end of the day, Friday, Jan. 20.
