Alex X. Mooney, Republican candidate for Marylands 6th Congressional District has raised over $108,039 since filing an exploratory committee for Congress. The outpouring of support for my campaign has been humbling, Mooney said. The individuals who have generously donated their personal money to my campaign understand the need to defend our values and reverse the far-left agenda of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama, said Mooney. The newly gerrymandered 6th Congressional district is expected to be one of the most expensive races in the country. With a toss-up seat like this, it is crucial that the Republican candidate have the financial resources to fight back against the nasty smears certain to come from the Democrat opponent, said Mooney. I will have resources necessary to defeat tax and spend Democrat Rob Garagiola who abused the legislative gerrymandering process in a offensive attempt to draw himself a Congressional District, Mooney said. He continued, I hope that the voters and national Republican leaders will see that I am the candidate best able to hold this seat for Republicans.
