Week 2 Vocabulary

Words and Definitions

1. Integer – A positive or negative whole number or zero.


2. Absolute Value – The distance between a number and zero.
3. Addends – Numbers to be added
4. Sum – The result of adding two or more numbers.
5. Difference – The result of subtracting two numbers.
6. Factors – The numbers being multiplied to form a product.
7. Product – The result of multiplying two or more numbers.
8. Dividend – The number being divided into equal parts.
9. Divisor – The number of equal groups to be divided.
10. Quotient – The number that is the result of division.

Application Practice

1. Choose the integers: 8, ½ , 7, 0, 0.5, -3, - ¼, -2, 7.2

2. Label the parts of the equation.

Example:
3 + 4 = 7
