You are now an expert on Will Shakespeare; the man, the legend (i.e. me). Your next task is to produce a leaflet or a poster to inform other people in your class about my life, my works and my times. Before you begin any written task, there are two important things you need to consider: Rules for writing to inform

I know, this may seem a bit basic, but you cant afford to forget it! Remember who and why.

Have a look at the two sample pieces of writing on the next page. No, its not spot the difference! One of them is a much better piece of informative writing than the other. Which one? Why? Find at least five reasons and list them in the box on the left these are the basic rules for writing to inform.

The assignment
Produce a Guide to Will Shakespeare. This could take the form of either a) an information leaflet or b) a poster You may use either word processing (for example, Microsoft Word) or a desktop publishing software (for example, Microsoft Publisher) for this assignment.
