shipwrightery: chains matter. and the order how u place patterns on the board.

always try to make sure u put all 5-piece ones on it with at least 2 other patterns. try to go for two 5s and two 4s, 2x5+1x4+1x3 or 2x5+2x3. most i can place all at once is 2x5+2x4+1x3 if i'm lucky with pieces on the board. then start placing them in increasing order. 1st the 3s, then 4s, then 5s. while placing check if any new pattern shows up or not from lower number (3 or 4) before starting arranging again. even after placing the last 5 u should check the board for another pattern before starting the arrangement again. this way u can make vegases easily, scoring higher with the increasing size placement. another thing is the mast indicator on the left side. i usually try to make sure that in the last go i'll have at least 3 paterns to place (when i have no further option to re-arrange) or even more. [3:05:48 AM] LuciHH: this puzzle is about speed and knowledge of patterns. also about anticipation. sometimes i do not have down a pattern that i have excess pieces on the board to it so i create the shape just in case. doesn't always pay off but many times i do get lucky. [3:06:07 AM] LuciHH: sometimes i do get unlucky with the blocked pieces and the poor variety of movable ones and that's when i score only exc.
