all employees, We are writing to confirm details of an event planned for the University of Central Lancashire. Our vice president, Rebecca Ingle, and Tako Horton have been in discussion about a calligraphy event for the Japanese society at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). As we are on a tight budget, we have agreed to offer the company Sweet Octopus an initial 100 for this event. This event will be a calligraphy workshop only. We will ask paid society members for a contribution of 1, and non-members 3 for this event. All entrants will be students of UCLAN. Students who produce their student identity cards with a blue student union society s sticker will be admitted as members. The fee will be charged upon arrival and will be collected by our treasurer, Elizabeth Jory. Due to anticipated popularity of this event, we will hold 2 1-hour workshops during the course of the selected date. Once the event is over, takings will be counted and 60% of all entrance fees will go to the Sweet Octopus company as a thank-you from the Japanese society and its members. The remaining 40% will be returned to the society bank account held by the student union for future events. We also agree that we will provide a suitable venue within the university to conduct the event, and that the upmost respect is given to employees of Sweet Octopus from all students. We will make Sweet Octopus as comfortable as possible, ensuring that all of their needs in terms of making the event possible are met.
