country Hitler took revenge after the King switched sides to support Britain. 2) After WWII Italys economy was very weak, especially in the south where it was less industrialised. 3) Italian men emigrated illegally to work in Brooklyn, New Yorks ship yards. 4) Italian immigrants were offered work on the docks as they could be paid cheaply and made to stay on until they had repaid their fare from Italy. 5) Once immigrants paid their fare back to ship yard bosses, they were left to fend for themselves.
