Homework Week of January 23rd-27th

The following is an outline of this weeks assignments: Monday: At home reading book. Roll a dice and answer comprehension questions about the story. Sight Words- Cut the new set of 5 sight words (big, man, come, here, now) into cards and store in baggie. Review all sight words. Math Games Book- Sticker Word Problem of the Day Listen to and read a Raz-kids electronic story on the computer. Sentence Book- Make sentences with the 5 sight words of the week: big, man, come, here, now. Remember to use conventions with your writing (see CUPS checklist). Tuesday:

PLEASE NOTE: y The Grade One classes will be skating at the Gorman Arena on Jan.31st, Feb. 7th, Feb. 14th, Feb. 21st and Feb. 28th from 9:50-10:20 a.m. Please return permission slips electronically or by paper as soon as possible. Also, please inform the school if your child does not have skates and we will try to borrow a pair for them. Parents are welcome to meet us at the rink to assist with tying skates and skating. All children and adults must wear a safety

helmet on the ice.

Run Across Canada program (running club) will be held Monday-Thursday mornings at recess in the school gymnasium (10:00-10:15). Please return or e-mail the permission slips and indicate any health problems which may be a factor for your child.
