What is Research ?
A close and careful study to find out facts or information.

Research is an organized and systematic way of finding answers to questions. It is a matter of gathering information from varying sources usually in relation to a specific topic and for a specific purpose.

Definition : Research can be defined as the search for knowledge, or as any systematic investigation, with an open mind, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop new theories.

David Nunan : Research is a systematic process of inquiry consisting of three elements or components : 1) a question, problem or hypothesis ; 2) data collection 3) analysis and interpretation of data. Martin Shuttleworth : In the broadest sense of the word, the definition of research includes any gathering of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge.
