Must

-To express ability and possibility. -Make requests and suggestions. -To express wishes. Positive form: Can/Could. Negative Form: Cant/ Couldnt.

-To express possibility. -Give or request permissions Positive Form : May/Might. Negative form: May not/ Might not.

To express a point of view. To give advice. Positive form : Should. Negative Form : Shouldnt.

-To express certainty , necessity and strong recommandations. Some speakers prefer to use have to. -Mustnt : we use it to prohibit actions but its severe. So speakers prefer to use softer modal verbs as should not or ought not. Positive form : Must. Negative Form : Mustnt.
