The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand, The sun goes down, but

gentle warmth still lingers on the land, The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains... For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.

Whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shame, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

A butterfly flies beside us like a sunbeam, And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belongs to our world. But then it flies on again, and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel so lucky to have seen it.

A grandfather was walking through his yard when he heard his granddaughter repeating the alphabet in a tone of voice that sounded like prayer. He asked her what she was doing. The little girl explained: 'I'm praying, but can't think of exactly the right words, so I'm just saying all the letters, and God will put them together for me, because He knows what I'm thinking.'

Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore to this day.

Our real blessings often appear to us in the shapes of pains, losses and disappointments; but let us have patience, and we soon shall see them in their proper figures.
