AAK LTR
AAK LTR
Membership No 2809
Please take this opportunity to strike me off the register as a member of the Architectural Association of Kenya. I was forced to join this organization as a pre-condition to sitting professional exams as required by law, and BORAQS. I have since come to a mutual understanding with BORAQS that I do not belong in the profession under current practice and regulation. Hence, as I have seen no other benefit to AAK membership in the two years I have been a member, I have no further need or reason to remain. It may be the letter of the law to require membership, but that still leaves the morality of this coercion in question. In a civilised society, this could be seen as the exercise of monopoly and is, in practice, extortion- as a membership fee is charged.
Sincerely,
