This may help a clearer and more authentic picture to emerge. Almost all movements in India have felt this need: to present their issues and struggles in a comprehensive and honest way. They deserve an understanding of their efforts in a complex context and on the larger canvas in which they have been operating. This calls for the organic intellectuals to reclaim lost ground for the sake of present-day struggles and the future politics of Alternative development. It is also pertinent in the emerging dominant political culture of Globalization of capital and increasing trivialization of the people s struggle.
