STANLEY IN IRAQ for Xavier, Kayla, and Jacob.

Hi! My name is Stanley. Currently, I live in Iraq. Iraq is

known as the birthplace of civilization.

I get up with the rising of the sun. In Arabic in order to say good morning we say Sabah Al hair.

Today, I am going to take a helicopter ride to the

International Zone, Baghdad. Here we refer to it as the IZ. Here are the HMMWV (pronounced HummVs) that will take me to the helopad.

Alriiight! My ride is here. This is my first ride in a helicopter. I am a bit nervous.

This is my friend the crew chief. He knows exactly what he is doing. I feel better about the ride. Now, I am excited!

And we are in the skyyyyyy! This is fun.

From the helicopter I can see the towns from a birds eyeview.

The IZ is a nice place. Unfortunately, there is still fighting sometimes.

Here is a picture of a mosque. The main religion in Iraq is Islam. Muslims worship in a mosque.

Heres me with a date palm. Lots of dates grow in Baghdad. I love

to eat dates! They are very sweet like honey.

Aladdin and Jasmine live in Iraq with Genie, the Magic Lamp, and Abu the Monkey.

Time to leave the IZ. We stop at the Baghdad International Airport, what we call BIAP, for gas.

Here comes the gas truck. This gas is a little bit different from gas we put in cars. This is JET FUEL.

In the place I live in there are lots of small palaces and little lakes. In Iraq there are also deserts with camels and mountains with snow.

Iraq is far away from the United States. It is 6,785 kilometers away from Savannah, GA.

Its getting late. It is almost time for bed.

Here is my room that I share with several of my friends.

This is my bed. I have to get up early tomorrow.

Ahh, the sunset.

Goodnight. See you tomorrow morning!

There is still a lot of work to do.
