Discrepancies in the Code of Kalantiaw 1.

During that period there are three crimes that people commit which subjects them to the punishment of death. They are killing, stealing and elderly abuse. According to this, you will be tortured before they actually kill you. This law has no discrepancy. 3.During that time, the filipinos are not using hours to measure the time and besides they have no clock or even wrist watch. That is the error found in this law. 4. For this law, the disrespecting and disturbing the deaths grave brings someone death but in law 6 and 9. It is either paying a fine or becoming a slave. So, this contradicts the others laws. 5.The word hour is used again in this law and that as stated earlier during this period, there are no clocks to measure the time. Another one is that, it uses old english style which is totally a western and at that time the country was still free from colonization from other country. 6.According to some sources, the code of kalantiaw is for the muslims and we all know that they are not animist, but in this law, it states that they should worship the animate objects like trees. This part also contradicts the 4th law. 7. This also implies that the people in this code are animist and that it is not possible for someone to shoot using a tool other than an arrow. This law contradicts the 8th one. 8.According to7th law, tresspassing to a Head`s man quarter will cause someones death but in here it is only slavery. It contradicts the 7th. 9.This law is talked somewhat of paper, but during this period, papers are not yet used in the Philippines. It contradicts law 4 and 15. 10.The law states that if a man, catches his wife with other man, the man should understand the wife and they will be thrown to a cayman 11. It contradicts the 8th law which states that slavery is the only punishment that can be given to those man of head man`s wife. 12. Again it includes something about anito again and that muslims are not animist. 13.The punishment in stealing a headman`s property is more sever than stealing his woman. 14. 15. 16. Again, if Kalantiaw was supposedly a member of a Muslim ruling class he would not be protecting "wooden or clay idols.

17. Already covered by Laws#4 and #6. And diwatas are more evidence that Kalantiaw was not a Muslim. 18.
