OBESITY??
ABNORMAL or EXCESSIVE FAT ACCUMULATION that may impair health. FIFTH LEADING RISK FOR GLOBAL DEATHS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions in 21st century, with rising rates in both the developed and developing world  Childhood obesity often persists into adulthood and is associated with numerous chronic illnesses


CAUSES:
 Insufficient sleep  endocrine disruptors (environmental pollutants that interfere with lipid metabolism)  Decreased rates of smoking  epigenetic risk factors passed on generationally  Increased use of medications that can cause weight gain (e.g., atypical antipsychotics)  Decreased variability in ambient temperature  Natural selection for higher BMI  Taking a lot of snacks and junk food

HOW TO FIND OUT OBESITY?:

Obesity can be determined by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI).

BMI= weight in kilograms (height in meters) X 2

DISEASES RELATED WITH OBESITY:


diabetes Hypertension High blood cholesterol (dyslipidemia) Coronary heart disease Stroke Gout Osteoarthritis Bladder control problems Gallstones Type 2 ( non-insulin dependent) diabetes

Unbalanced diet is the most factor for obesity to occur in community

Future generation are likely to suffer from obesity by genetic factors

Excess weight would complicate daily movement of people

Parents should monitor their children s eating pattern everyday

WAYS TO OVERCOME OBESITY:

Responsibilities of obesity requires the person to overcome the problem by managing the food styles and activities each day  Parents and their children should conscious that childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions in 21st century  All action taken today will affect the future
