DISTANT Life is not nuclear physics, Or a mountain to climb Or a wall to overcome.

Life is not a box of chocolates, Or a wife and two kids in the suburbs. Love is not neurons firing Or a chemical process in the brain. Everything is as it is, And you and I are as we are. Yet you lose your way in your own mind, Touching the walls in awe And splashing colors on the tapestries And singing your heart out And spending years wondering How you came to be there. So won t you come up to the surface Before you forget the way back? I d resurrect you and bring you back to me, Just so that your eyes do not look So distant. The light does not shine through To the recesses of your heart, So won t you break down those walls And let some fresh air in? Let your thoughts bleed out; They are nothing to be ashamed of. You re miles away. Won t you smile more?
