What is Present Continuous?

Form: 2 Steps 1. Add verb for to be

am/is/are
2. Add present participle

verb + ing
(subject) + am/is/are + present participle (verb + ing) Example:

I am watching a movie

Examples
Present Simple I drive cars The lion sleeps She goes shopping You eat chicken They play Starcraft Present Continuous I am driving cars The lion is sleeping She is going shopping You are eating chicken
They are playing Starcraft

Present Perfect vs. Past Simple

Present Tense
y Present Simple ex. I eat breakfast everyday y Present Continuous ex. I am eating breakfast right now y Present Perfect ex. I have eaten breakfast already y Present Perfect Continuous ex. I have been eating breakfast for five minutes now

When do we use Present Perfect?

to talk about past experiences ( ) in our lives

What is Present Perfect?

Step 2: add past participle

(unless Irregular Verb)

What is Present Perfect?

But isnt Present Perfect like Past Tense?

When do we use Simple Past Tense (ex. I played, She walked) and when do we use Present Perfect (ex. I have played, She has walked)?
